The US military has carried out airstrikes in various locations across Iran for the 11th consecutive night. The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the primary objective of these operations is to further weaken Iranian military capabilities that could pose a threat to the safety of commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

A CENTCOM statement indicated that the latest strikes targeted Iranian military operational centers, naval capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and logistics infrastructure.

The US claims that Iran has attacked over 30 commercial vessels traversing the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for international trade, over the past three months. CENTCOM alleges that these attacks have jeopardized the lives of hundreds of innocent sailors and hindered the freedom of international navigation.

Despite the ongoing conflict, the Strait of Hormuz remains open for commercial shipping, the US forces have reported. According to CENTCOM data, approximately 900 commercial vessels have safely transited the Strait of Hormuz with US assistance since the beginning of May this year. During the same period, an estimated 450 million barrels of crude oil have also been transported, it claimed.

Meanwhile, Iran has not yet officially responded to these latest US strikes. Tensions continue to mount in the Middle East surrounding the situation.
