    Application for Lawsuit Filed Against 16, Including Yunus and Asif Nazrul

    An application for a lawsuit has been filed against 16 individuals, including former Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and former Law Advisor to the interim government Dr. Asif Nazrul, regarding the death of teachers and students in an airplane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, the capital.

    The application was filed this Thursday morning in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam by Usaimong Marma, father of the deceased student Ukya Chhaing Marma.

    AKM Sharif Uddin, the lawyer for the plaintiff, confirmed the matter, stating that the court has taken the plaintiff’s statement and is awaiting an order.

    The lawsuit also names several other relevant individuals as defendants, including former advisor Dr. Rizwana Hasan and former Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

    It is noteworthy that on July 21, 2025, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed in the premises of Milestone School and College in Diabari area of Uttara. A total of 36 people were killed, including 28 students. The aircraft’s pilot, Flight Lieutenant Md. Toukir Islam, also died in the accident.
