The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for eight divisions of the country, including the capital, effective until 11 AM on Thursday (April 30).

Meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam provided this information on Wednesday (April 29). He stated that there is a possibility of heavy rain along with lightning during this period.

Meteorologist Shahinul also informed that warning signal number 3 remains in effect for riverports and seaports across the country. Additionally, fishing trawlers have been advised to stay close to the coast until further notice.

He added that the tendency for heavy rainfall, lightning, and Kalbaishakhi storms might continue for the next 4 to 5 days across the country. However, from May 5 onwards, rainfall is expected to decrease, and temperatures are likely to rise gradually.

In light of this situation, the Meteorological Department has advised against unnecessary outdoor activities, to avoid open spaces during lightning strikes, and to exercise caution in naval navigation.
